Job Description

DKD Enterprises LLC is looking for a heavy equipment operator in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area that can run a Backhoe, Skidsteer and Excavator.

Operate machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials associated with the electrical construction industry.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Works with the crew.
• Operates power machinery.
• Receives written or oral instructions to move or excavate material.
• Measures and verifies levels of rock or gravel, base, and other excavated material.
• Lubricates and repairs machinery and replaces parts, such as gears, bearings, and bucket teeth.
• Directs ground workers engaged in activities, such as moving stakes or markers.
• Controls operations of equipment or systems.
• Adjusts actions in relation to others’ actions.
• Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Education and Experience Required:  

• High School graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent training.
• Has 2-3 years of previous experience.

Working Conditions/ Physical Functions:

• Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, and balance.
• Be able to lift up to 51 lbs.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Be able to sit for long periods of time while operating machinery.
• Constantly use hands and arms to control operations.
• Possess good vision (normal or corrected).
• Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta Johns).
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves) when deemed necessary or mandatory. Must be able to wear respirators when required.
• Must be able to work 8 or 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime and night shifts as required.
• Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
• Must be able to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down.
• Must be able to know locations in relation to the environment or to know where other objects are in relation to him/her
