What To Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented Industrial Engineering Technician to contribute to implementing Engineering and Lean Principles to the manufacturing process of our cutting-edge Gigafactory New York. Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, the Engineering Technician will help improve processes to increase overall efficiency, capacity, and safety. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on a critical subsystem of an incredibly exciting product. What You'll Do Assist Industrial Engineers in data collection and performing quantitative analyses related to layout design, work measurements, capacity planning, headcount planning, and factory space planningCollaborate with Production Management and cross-functional support teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordinglyFrontline leaders in implementing engineering solutions for layout design and 5SDevelop 2D equipment and factory layouts in AutoCADAbility to prepare diagrams to illustrate workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilizationAbility to collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize process. Working knowledge of 5S principles, Work Measurement, JIT, Kanban and Problem Solving Methods
What You'll Bring Understands the definition of Takt time, target cycle time, and factors of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in depthModerate data analysis skills – Tableau/ SQL knowledge is a plusAble to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlinesExemplary verbal and written communication skills. Conflict resolution and change management skills are a plusIntermediate skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, and PowerPoint (Visio is a plus). Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic drawings and formulasDegree or postsecondary certificate in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent expierence2+ years’ experience of relevant experience

Expected Compensation
Engineering Technician I - $27.45 - $30.60/hourEngineering Technician II - $31.63 - $34.97/hourEngineering Technician III - $34.73 - $40.36/hour
+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
