Lecturer
Job Summary
A Lecturer in the Mathematical Sciences Department, will teach courses pertaining to mathematical concepts, statistics, and actuarial science and to the application of original and standardized mathematical techniques in solving specific problems and situations.
Specifically, the lecturer position will:
Teaching undergraduate courses;
• Participate in curriculum development;
• Advise undergraduate students;
• Mentor graduate-student teaching adjuncts; and
• Provide committee work to the department and institute, as needed.
The Lecturer may also teach the following courses for the school year:
MATH-1020 Calculus II - Sections 5 -8 and Sections 9-12: Techniques and applications of integration, polar coordinates, parametric equations, infinite sequences and series, vector functions and curves in space, functions of several variables, and partial derivatives.
MATH-6950 Teaching Seminar for Math TAs: A seminar required for Math Teacher adjuncts.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in mathematics, computational biology or a closely related discipline.
