Minister to Students and Recreation
Purpose: Lead in harmony with the Pastor in the development of church evangelism, ministries, and programs that will draw students to faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord and also attract them to First Baptist Church to encourage them to serve Jesus Christ in meaningful ways.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
· Organize and lead Student Ministry (grades 7-12) including Bible Study, evangelism, discipleship, recreation, and activities as well as promoting ministry and mission opportunities in relationship to the overall church ministry.
· Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer workers who have diverse gifts and personalities in Student Ministry.
· Provide counseling and spiritual direction to students on an individual basis as well as in group settings
· Seek to integrate members into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.
· Assist in developing and oversight of the Student Ministry budgets.
· Preach as directed by the Senior Pastor in other worship services.
· Participate as needed or requested in the evaluation and development of the overall church ministry.
· In concert with other ministerial staff, give support to student parents in learning more about the parental role and in perfecting their parenting skills.
· Participate in all church outreach functions and ministries.
· Serves as staff member responsible for CAC (gym) usage.
· Oversee vision, planning, and organizing for Recreation Ministry.
· Serves as an ex-officio member of the Recreation Committee.
· Perform all other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
Expectations:
· Attend general church services and weekly staff meetings
· Visit students at schools and attend student activities when it is feasible.
· Attend ministry related conferences, webinars, or other training events, as supported by church budget, when available and approved by the Pastor.
· Participate in yearly job performance review.
· Present an annual budget proposal for Student and Recreation Ministries.
