**Job Specific Position Duties:**
The responsibilities encompass a range of routine and moderately complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, including but not limited to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) studies and specialized localization imaging for foreign bodies in areas such as the eye, hand, and foot.
The role involves acquiring necessary ocular films aimed at identifying foreign objects like glass or shrapnel.
The incumbent is accountable for the accurate management of patient electronic medical records, including the completion of radiology worksheets, patient discharge documentation, and the transfer of imaging data to the Medical Picture Archival Communication Systems (PACS) to facilitate radiologist review.
Additionally, a key aspect involves conducting Quality Control Assessments to ensure the integrity of the scans prior to patient release. The individual must report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed to the supervising government official to maintain operational efficacy.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
**Additional Knowledge Required:**
- Proficient understanding of moderately complex radiographic techniques related to the eye, skull, hand, foot, and facial structures, enabling accurate execution of these procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of radiographic machinery to identify malfunctions or safety hazards, as well as to oversee proper maintenance protocols to ensure optimal function.
- Strong comprehension of human anatomy and physiology, specifically regarding the structure, location, and function of major organs and the skeletal system. This expertise is crucial for identifying areas of interest using anatomical landmarks and assessing the acceptability of radiographs for diagnostic interpretation, as well as evaluating positioning techniques to prevent exacerbation of patient discomfort or injury.
- Familiarity with radiation protection standards set by appropriate agencies, including knowledge of radiation-sensitive regions of the body and specific protective devices and methodologies pertinent to the imaging equipment and procedures used. This knowledge is essential for maintaining adequate protective measures for both patients and operational personnel, while also reassuring patients about X-ray safety protocols.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

**Education:** Must be a graduate of a radiologic technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

**Experience:** Minimum of one year of practical experience as a Radiology/X-Ray Technologist.
* **Licensure:** Must hold certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

**Life Support Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

**Security:** Candidates must successfully pass a government background check and obtain necessary security clearance.
