Senior Electrical Engineer - Aerospace and Defense

A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed for a highly regarded aerospace/defense company. The primary responsibility of this person will be to investigate a variety of problems including RF/Analog, digital, assembly, and SMT. As new products are launched you will interface with design engineering, assisting with root cause analysis, troubleshooting of prototypes and ensuring a successful launch into full rate production.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Hardware troubleshooting ability including analog and RF components and circuits.
- Design and analysis of circuits and components utilizing ADS, Matlab and various design and simulation tools.
- Experienced in leading small technical design or troubleshoot team, providing direction and prioritizing tasks to meet target yields and shipments.
- Ability to use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network analyzers, and signal generators.
- Working in cross-functional teams to meet manufacturability, testability and other DFx requirements for volume production.
- Working with design engineering and manufacturing teams to introduce new designs into manufacturing.
- Working with design engineering to make necessary circuit changes prior to and during the launch of new products.
- Working to mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide guidance to junior staff. Assisting them as they investigate problems. Leading investigations and coordinating tasks.
- Working with vendors, Quality and Supply Chain to address material discrepancies.
- Troubleshooting unit, modules, and boards to the component level.
Required Software: LabVIEW, ADS and Jira
Required Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience designing and developing RF components, circuits and subsystems for multidisciplinary products applications
- Experience with tactical Radio and Power Amplifier HW.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to work effectively with a variety of people.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree Electrical Engineer or equivalent experience
Position: Direct Hire
Travel: 5% domestic and international required
