About the Role

We are seeking a qualified college or university student with a strong technical background to instruct summer camp robotics and coding programs for students ages 8–14.

This instructor position runs from June 3 through July 17, 2026 , including training, setup, and summer camp instruction. Student camp sessions begin June 8, 2026 .

-$18/hr · Part-Time · Summer 2026

What You’ll Do

• Teach structured robotics and coding classes for students ages 8–14
• Deliver hands-on Python and robotics lessons using PiCar kits
• Guide students through project-based learning activities
• Manage classroom environment and student behavior
• Set up and maintain robotics equipment
• Support communication with camp staff and parents as needed

Requirements

Academic Background

• Currently enrolled in a college or university (South Bay / Chula Vista area preferred)
• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field
• Strong Python programming skills

Required Coursework

• Introduction to Computer Programming with Python
• Data Structures and Algorithms with Python
• Computer Organization and Architecture
• All listed coursework must have been completed with a grade of A

Experience & Skills

• Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience preferred
• Experience working with children ages 8–14 preferred
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and professional

Work Environment

• Comfortable working in classroom and live instructional settings
• Must reside in South Bay San Diego (Chula Vista, CA) and be available June–July 2026

Compliance Requirements

• Must successfully pass a background check prior to working with students
• Must pass a TB test prior to working with students
• Must adhere to all safety and supervision policies when working with minors
