Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene in all kitchen activities
  • Manage ingredient quality, freshness, and proper storage to ensure optimal taste and safety
  • Ensure timely preparation and presentation of dishes during busy service hours
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and plating specifications consistently
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in the sushi station

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sushi preparation.
  • Strong knife skills and expertise in food handling techniques specific to sushi ingredients
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
  • Background in dietary department or dietary aide work is a plus but not required
  • Excellent food service skills with a focus on presentation and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
